• I am leading the operationalization of the O&M framework for rural water infrastructure in five Districts, 3 in Central and 2 in Mid-western Uganda (Nakaseke, Mityana, Kassanda, Kyegegwa, and Kikuube). My core responsibility is to manage my team to provide preventive maintenance services for hand pumps, and mini-piped water systems and when funds are available upgrade hand pump-operated boreholes to piped water systems Some of my day-to-day activities include the selection of sites for the construction of piped water systems, supervising the design of solar piped water systems, narrative and financial reporting, developing monthly work plans and overseeing their implementation, and creating partnerships with the district and other Non Government Organizations.

• Established and trained 20 Water Service Technicians (WSTs) and managed them to provide preventive maintenance to communities and achieved above 95% average spot functionality of water sources. Specific responsibilities included: oversee and supervised the assessment and technical rehabilitation by hand pump mechanics of 200 hand pumps, developed maintenance schedules for hand pumps, managed a group of 20 WSTs and ensured that they provided maintenance services to the customers’ satisfaction, keep accurate records of maintenance costs, triggered communities to practice proper hygiene and sanitation using the CLTS approach.

• Assist lecturers in administering coursework and assit the principal investigator to collect data on a project for investigating the occurrence and management of landslides in the 8 Mt. Elgon districts. Specific roles included; Supported lecturer in handling practical sessions on statistical analysis with R data analysis software. Taught first and second-year students of Natural Resources Economics, collected data on landslides, land use, and other factors in the Mountain Elgon region using GPS and questionnaires for predicting landslide occurrence, and Supported third-year students in the analysis of data for their final-year project reports
