When you have a sound vehicle mechanically and travelling in new and foreign countries, it becomes more of tourism than work and responsibilities. You enjoy viewing new lands and different people with different cultures. On the other hand you've to be equipped with some mechanical skills and recovery in order to save yourself, in the event the truck breaks down anywhere along your journey. You must have good defensive driving skills to cope with rogue drivers who are ignorant of many rules along the road. When driving on east African roads, you use Anglo-rules, while on Central African roads you use Franco-rules and regulations. It is in this respect where by you've to be equipped to cope with these challenges including fatigue, stress and tiredness. In East Africa, speed limit is mostly 50 to 80 Kilometers per Hour, while in most Southern Africa countries the speed limit in major highways is 120 to 150 Kilometers per Hour , in this regard you've to be adjustable to these changes in order not to inconvenience the different road users on those roads. While driving in conflict prone areas like Somalia and South Sudan, you must also be equipped with skills on how to live with rebels and bandits who might ambush you at any moment
